"It is now up to the woman in question to tell her story" - Mathieu van der Poel's cap thrower set to turn themselves in

Mathieu van der Poel's spectacular solo victory at Paris-Roubaix 2024 last Sunday wasn't without controversy as during his ride, a woman in the crowd threw her cap directly at the world champion's back wheel in an incident that could've ended much worse.
According to reports by Het Nieuwsblad however, the woman in question is now set to turn herself in. Whilst the identity of the woman hasn't been revealed, it's been found out that she was a corporate guest at a VIP tent for the race and somewhat strangely, supposedly is a big Mathieu van der Poel supporter.
"We have been organising that day for 16 years," Olivier Orlans of Eventor said, the company that organised the corporate hospitality. "When we saw the images, we did not think the woman was part of our party. She didn't have a badge to get in and out of our tent. But we did investigate and asked all our customers if they knew the lady in question."
"If it was deliberate, then as an organisation we obviously find that scandalous, but everyone has the benefit of the doubt. It is now up to the woman in question to tell her story," Orlans concluded, explaining how the woman will "turn herself in."

- Hey, all great and deserving of respect but let’s not look at things too pinkly. He’s only just above Marc Hirschi in the UCI rankings. He’s had the potential to do this for the last 7-8 years, it’s just all come together at once, having his moment. Maybe he went on a secret HA camp :-) Seriously though, he’s NEVER said he doesn’t believe in it (challenge: find me that quote), he said he hates it in words that would get an F1 driver punished, and for the same reasons that his fellow countryman Jonas gets crucified for, being away from family (though given team budgets, there is an obvious solution to that). Mental instability.
To draw peoples' attentions.

Unfortunately there are people out who are emboldened and encouraged when they see others exhibiting this type of improper and unacceptable behaviour, so this is a little bit of good news that just may deter others from committing similar infractions at the next race.
It's fine to say that she gets to tell her side, but assuming the video is accurate, she is guilty of an assault. The "allez opi omi" incident produced a far worse result, but was the product of stupidity more than malice. This incident did not cause a crash, thankfully, but in my view deserves a more severe response. It was deliberate, and the response should set a precedent that deters others.
