Just 10 seconds is all that separates Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard at the top of the general classification standings at the Tour de France as the race reaches it's second rest day. A situation that gives the Slovenian plenty to be positive about.
"We took the final climb hard. I felt that Jonas was super good. I knew I could not drop him because the climb was too easy. I tried to improvise and let Adam Yates go so he could grab a few seconds for the GC," Pogacar recaps in a post-stage interview after he and his teammate crossed the line side by side after being inseparable. "He is now closer to the podium, which is super nice."
"We can head into the third week with lots of confidence. We feel good, we have good legs. Today’s was a really good team performance," continues the UAE Team Emirates leader. "We have a rest day tomorrow, and yet another one for some of the guys on Tuesday. Let’s see after the rest day how to tackle these final decisive stages."

Coming up after the rest day is the individual time-trial. With just 10 seconds between the leading duo, it could be the perfect opportunity for Pogacar to take the Maillot Jaune. "As for the ITT, I know the route very good. I hope it suits me pretty well. It’s a very parcourse and can’t way to get started."
