Stefan Küng brings in incredibly tight victory at Chrono des Nations over Jay Vine and Johan Price-Pejtersen

The Chrono des Nations always delivers a lot of action late in the season with a one-day race time-trial. Specialists always take this title and 2024 is no exception as Stefan Küng wraps up the year with an exciting win.

Grace Brown has won the women's race earlier in the afternoon and for the men's race the route would be 45 kilometers long, an effort fit for the specialists and with a completely flat route. It features quite a lot of strong contenders.

The first intermediate point already showed how tight the battle for the win was going to be. Here, Mikkel Bjerg was the fastest but with four riders within five seconds of the provisional best time: Jay Vine, Stefan Küng, Johan Price-Pejtersen and Alec Segaert.

The second intermediate point saw Küng take over as Bjerg and Segaert began to lose meaningful time. The fight for the win looked to become one between three riders and the truth is that in the final kilometers the differences were even smaller.

The Groupama - FDJ rider was the last to cross the finish line and did so with the best time, winning the time-trial with only 4 seconds over Vine and 5 over Bahrain - Victorious' Price-Pejtersen.
