Silvia Persico to UAE Team ADQ - "With the team, we can be a source of inspiration for so many women"

The next few years will see Silvia Persico racing for UAE Team ADQ. The 25-year-old Italian rider has signed a three-year contract with the team.
Persico has established herself as a well-known rider in Cyclo-cross, but this season was especially good for her in flat races. In addition to finishing fifth in the first Tour de France Femmes this year, she also finished seventh at the Giro d'Italia and seventh in the Tour of Burgos. Furthermore, she won a stage in the Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta.
After racing for Valcar-Travel & Service for six years the rider is looking to upgrade the team. "I am looking forward to the next few years, which are very important for my career," she said. "I am leaving Valcar, where I grew up because I hope to take an extra step with my new team. I learned a lot this season, and I think I did show that I can lead a team. The decision to sign with UAE Team ADQ for three years was also based on shared values. To have a project that goes beyond cycling. With the team, we can be a source of inspiration for so many women, especially in the Arab world," concluded Persico.

- It's weird to say Evenepoel would be making a "serious mistake by adding the 2027 Giro d'Italia to his calendar, warning that such a decision could even be interpreted as a lack of confidence in his ability to win the Tour de France." It may well be a mistake but with so many commentators (of all sorts) continuously claiming almost everything Remco does as being a mistake, almost nobody should care what the pundits and the disparagers should say. His team may not want him to do the Giro, and that matters. But it's possibly or probably up to Remco to decide and it may not have to be decided on until a month or so ahead of the race. Yes , Remco is inconsistent much like the majority of the best riders but he's enjoying a period of not having been recently injured (or sick). Whatever he does he need not be concerned with critics who will second guess any perceived failure no matter what. - Every great cyclist has at least two Giro/Tour doubles, and in modern cycling or what we call modern cycling, Miguel Indurain is the only guy to do it twice. I think Tadej should go for it and commit if he is putting up good numbers somewhere around January/February.awp04-11-2026
