SD Worx's DS believes Kopecky doesn't need to train as a climber: "Everyone is very happy with the Lotte we see now"

Crossing the finish line of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad WE last weekend, Team SD Worx rider Lotte Kopecky marked a flying start to her season with her first win.

Sports director Lars Boom is well acquainted with Kopecky's abilities, having worked together previously, so it comes as no surprise to him. "If you keep working hard and living like a professional, you'll get better and better," Boom told Sporza. He continues, “Lotte now has more experience and is more determined to get to the point where she wants to be good."

Since joining the team last year, Kopecky appears to have settled in quite nicely. "This team is attuned to each other. They have fun with a lot of humor. Then the other things will come naturally. If you can do great things with colleagues and friends, then that's nice. Everything is always well discussed and discussed."

Kopecky's climbing abilities may not be her forte, and Boom is content with her performance and doesn't see a need for any changes. "I don't want to think about that. Everyone is very happy with the Lotte we see now. I don't know if you have to want to ride better uphill on those long climbs. I don't think she's that type. I don't see it happening,” concluded Boom.
