Sam Bennett has raced the Tour de Pologne but couldn't perform at his expected level, and missed much high-level competition. At the BEMER Cyclassics he will lead BORA - hansgrohe's ambitions as the team is built around a possible sprint.
Team of the defending champion, Marco Haller is back at the start line and should take on a possible free role if the race explodes over the final ascents of the course. Alongside him, Nils Politt and Max Schachmann will also be outsiders to watch.
The Irishman however, who has missed the Tour de France and will leave the team at the end of the season, will despite the lack of his best legs be a contender for victory. The team puts in quite a bit of trust in him nevertheless, Danny van Poppel comes in as premier leadout, but Ryan Mullen and Patrick Gamper may also play a role in the pursuit of a result in a sprint.
