Soudal - Quick-Step secures another reliable teammate and a great timetrialist in person of Josef Cerny for next period. In an attempt to build a team around his GC asset, Remco Evenepoel, the owner Patrick Lefevere puts trust in the Czech rouleuer to put in the work for long hours on flat stages.
"I am very happy to have signed to continue with Soudal Quick-Step for two more years. The Wolfpack have become my second family and I am enjoying my time with them, so I was happy to get the chance to stay here. I have had some good results, and I want to continue to progress my career, while also working hard for my teammates and helping them to deliver in some of the biggest races," Cerny said in press release.
Soudal Quick-Step CEO Patrick Lefevere was also content with the new deal: "Josef is a really important building block in the team that I am trying to build. He works very hard for his teammates, often using his immense horsepower to pull along the peloton for long periods. But he is capable of taking some important victories for himself as well, especially in a time trial. He is also an important character to have around the bus and is very popular amongst the riders and staff, so we are very happy to have him for two more years."
