The Groupama-FDJ selection for the
Tour de France was one of the most talked about prior to the Grand Départ. Everything had to make way for the ambitions of Gaudu and Pinot in the French team, leaving sprinter Arnaud Démare at home.
Marc Madiot now evaluates what was perhaps a slightly disappointing Tour for his team.
"I think we did well, even if the results are not extraordinary," said the sports director. "We have two riders in the top 11, we finished fifth in the team classification and showed good cooperation," Madiot defends. "The Pinot show in the Vosges will also live on in the memories of many."
