On the 18th of September the peloton in Belgium will tackle one of it's most iconic classics. It is the day of the GP de Wallonie, the famous one-day races which finishes atop the Citadelle de Namur. We take a look at it's profile.
The race will be 202.5 kilometers within the Wallonie region of Belgium and is one for the puncheurs and classics riders. It's not a brutal race but one that features small climbs from start to finish. In the finale there will be two sharp hilltops only a few kilometers before the final ascent to the Citadelle de Namur - a mostly-cobbled climb with several switchbacks where usually we have got a spectacular finale - the ascent is 2.9 kilometers long at 4.1%.
