Primoz Roglic's participation at Vuelta a Espana to be decided in coming days

Primoz Roglic is showing good signs ahead of the Vuelta a Espana, however his participation is still very much at risk. The decision from Jumbo-Visma is yet to be made, which can make dramatic differences in the lineup the team is having over the coming weeks.

The report came from Ciro Scognamiglio of Gazzetta dello Sport, citing sources from within Jumbo-Visma. At this point, several teams have announced their lineups for the upcoming Vuelta, but Jumbo are likely to wait a few more days as they look to get as much feedback as possible from the three-time defending champion.

Roglic crashed in the Tour de France, suffering a dislocated shoulder, and posteriorly being diagnosed with two broken vertebrae which have kept him off the bike for weeks after he abandoned the Tour in the second week. The team went on to succeed deeply in the final week, however Roglic was now focused on the task of recovering as quickly as possible in order to still be able to be present at the Vuelta.

He's gotten back on the bike over the last week, but a decision is yet to be made. Without Roglic, the likes of Sepp Kuss, Rohan Dennis and Mike Teunissen are set to have their freedom to chase stage wins. With Roglic however, the team is more likely to follow a GC-oriented strategy and lineup. Big decisions are to be made for the Dutch team, and they will be cleared in the coming days.
