Preview. On the 11th of March the women's peloton take on one of it's most prestigious one-day races, the Ronde van Drenthe. It's a race decided often by it's many cobbled sectors, bergs and strong winds.
The race features four sectors early on with 8.7 kilometers of cobbles, and a second one that has another four sectors with 4.9 kilometers of cobbles. Early on this will cause absolute chaos in the race.
The riders then move onto a circuit which includes the VAM-berg, which will be climbed three times and is cobbled. The finale will then be flat however as for the final 40 kilometers the riders race around the finishing city of Hoogeveen.
