On June 8th, one of Belgium's beloved classics unfolds. The dynamic
Dwars door het Hageland, known for its explosive nature, offers a prime opportunity for riders to gauge their form ahead of the national championships. Let's
preview this exciting race.
The 177-kilometer race is perfect for chaos. In northern Belgium the organizers have plotted a route which is filled with cobbled and gravel sectors alongside short and sharp climbs. It's as explosive as it can be, as hard as a spring classic but with a shorter distance. There are 18 cobbled sectors in total and plenty climbs - some of them cobbled, some not. It's a difficult race which has a cobbled uphill finish into the Diest Citadel, always a spectacular uphill finale.
