Pidcock was very dissatisfied with his de-selection from the Italian monunment where he was a legitimate candidate for the final podium, and thus ends his season prematurely and unexpectedly. He posted on Instagram only minutes after the lineup reveal and said that he was told Thursday (the day before) of this, meaning he knew already ahead of the announcement.
Earlier this week more than one source reported on the interest of Q36.5, a team currently without a meaningful leader that can battle in the World Tour races, in Pidcock. A strong connection comes from the fact that the team owner has bought Pinarello, a personal sponsor of the Briton. This gains more and more traction specially following a new assessment from Gazzetta dello Sport' Ciro Scognamiglio.
Scognamiglio has written this past evening that not only is the team still a strong option for a transfer, but that this could also include his coach Kurt Bogaerts away from INEOS; but also
Michal Kwiatkowski who's been in the team since 2016 and is one of the most stable riders. This would give a proper strong classics duo, but would significantly hamper INEOS core squad, if it was to happen.
