Drone Hopper - Androni Giocattoli's
Natnael Tesfatsion conquered the Tour of Rwanda for a second time in his short career as he had an incredibly consistent week to net a very important win for the Italian Team.
With teams of just five riders or less, a chaotic week was expected in Rwanda as the peloton tackled a heap of hilly stages throughout it's eight days, and from it it was young Eritrean Natnael Tesfatsion who came out on top. The 22-year old got to the lead of the race on stage six and successfully defended it against
Anatoliy Budyak (Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team) and
Jesse Ewart (Bike Aid).
Despite not managing to win a stage, Tesfatsion was consistent throughout the week and thrived in the rugged terrain of Rwanda to replicate his win in the 2020 edition, further showing his potential as one of Africa's most prominent uprising talents.
The eight stages saw the likes of Total Energies take three wins, two by Alexandre Geniez and one by Sandy Dujardin. B&B Hotels-KTM' Alan Boileau, Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team's Anatoliy Budyak, ProTouch's Kent Main and Moise Mugisha also took stage wins throughout the race.
Drone Hopper - Androni Giocattoli not only took the GC and U23 classifications with Tesfatsion but also a stage with as Jhonatan Restrepo blasted through to win stage 3. Moise Mugisha took the KOM jersey alongside the final stage in Kigali and BikeAid conquered the team's classification.
