Having taken place last night on the
Zwift platform, the UCI Cycling ESports World Championships had it's second edition which featured several road racing professionals alongside very talented riders that have notable performances on Zwift. Netherlands'
Loes Adegeest and Australia's
Jay Vine became World Champions.
The races have taken place on the platform's course of New York over a 54.9 kilometer course where every athlete was on sanctioned equipment so as to assure maximum accuracy between the athletes that raced this event from all around the world.
Men's race was won by Alpecin - Fenix's Jay Vine who famously got his spot on the Pro Team via his victory in the Zwift Academy program, and has once again shown here his tremendous quality by taking the rainbow stripes in this new discipline. On the women's race it was Dutch Loes Adegeest who emerged the winner and new world champion. The 25-year old is currently racing for the Irish IBCT team where she should show her colours at some of the spring classics, but in the meantime has obtained a much more important title.
