Covid-19 has taken another rider out of the Tour de France, before the start of stage 18 it was Movistar Team's Imanol Erviti who tested positive and has consequently abandoned the race.
The Spanish veteran had been serving a domestique role for the Spanish team, playing an important part in protecting Enric Mas throughout the flat stages and with positioning throughout the entire race.
This was Erviti's 28th Grand Tour, as the veteran sees his second ever abandon in the race - having the 2012 Tour de France as the only occasion in the past where he's dropped out of a three-week race.
Movistar Team now continue the race with seven riders, as today into Hautacam Enric Mas will have what is possibly his last chance to climb up the overall classification and chase a stage win.

- He actually took a pay cut when transferred to Visma; he was the star at Jayco for years, he moved because a different team structure could improve his chances and they both got the benefits of the transaction.
