Miguel Angel Lopez on Quintana: "I knew that Nairo wasn't going to retire"

The cycling world was taken aback by the announcement of Nairo Quintana's retirement, but it later proved to be untrue. However, one person who didn't believe the news was Miguel Angel Lopez.

Just a few days ago, the news of Quintana retiring from professional came out, and it was a shock to the whole cycling community. However, the Colombian rider late clarified the details. Stating that he wanted to continue his adventure in cycling despite the many difficulties he has encountered in recent months.

"I knew that Nairo wasn't going to retire, it was speculation that was going nowhere. Nairo doesn't give up like that because he is a great fighter, a person who gets what he wants," Lopez told Marca.

He has a great deal of trust in the Colombian cyclist. He recognises similarities between his own circumstances and those of Quintana. "I'm sure he'll keep fighting. We are both young, I am 28 and Nairo 32, we have many good years of cycling, and because of the injustices in life, we are not going to give up," concluded Lopez.
