With his recovery process well outlined and executed, the
Cofidis rider has been able to return to the bike in the meantime: "Of course, my first outing on the road since the accident was not very pleasant, but mentally it is also getting better and better. I'm not worried about regaining all my feelings in the race."
The team has said they expect Walscheid will be able to return to competition in May, where he will likely be preparing a return to the Tour de France: "I will not participate in Paris-Roubaix and I knew it from the accident that it would take time to recover properly. I'm bound to be disappointed but I know I can't change anything. The main thing now is to leave behind the accident, its memory and its consequences to bounce back as quickly as possible."
