Luke Lamperti reveals about 2nd overall from Tour of Oman, Jan Hirt: "He sleeps more than anybody that I have ever met in my life!"

Luke Lamperti and his teammate Paul Magnier took the world of professional cycling by a storm in their first races among pros, racking up six podium results already. In recent press release, Lamperti talked about the last week of racing Muscat Classic and Tour of Oman with the latter marked by unexpected rainfall.

"When they say you can go racing in Oman, what you expect is sunny weather, desert, some camel spotting and chilling vibes in the peloton. Certainly not rain! And rain we got... crazy weather conditions, shortening of the stages and definitely no chill vibes in the peloton. But apart from the crazy weather conditions we really enjoyed our first time there."

Apart from racking up three runner-up spots, Luke came out of the race also with a funny anecdote about one of his teammates, Jan Hirt, the experienced Czech who concluded the week in second place overall: "One thing I can tell you is that he sleeps a lot, like a lot! More than anybody that I have ever met in my life. He comes into the room and he sleeps until five minutes before we have to leave."

"I learned how professional the staff is and the environment of the team, yet keeping the Wolfpack spirit and making us feel at home," concluded Lamperti talking about what he learnt over the last week with Soudal - Quick-Step in Oman.
