The
Giro d'Italia will have more teams within a chance of getting a wildcard for the race as one of the automatic invitees,
Lotto Dstny, has decided not to make the journey to Italy once again.
This is reported by Het Nieuwsblad. The Belgian team has made the decision not to race the Giro in 2023 despite having the automatic wildcard, as it was the ProTeam that scored the most UCI points throughout the 2022 season - when it was still in the World Tour. In 2023, it was again a big scorer, and earned automatic wildcards for all World Tour events. It voluntarily pulls out of the Corsa Rosa.
