Lotte Kopecky narrowly misses out on another win: "It's a pity we couldn't sprint for the win"

Lotte Kopecky crossed the line third in the Tour de France Femmes on Friday. The Belgian all-rounder from SD Worx rode to her fifth top 5 result in six stages.

Day one in the Tour de France Femmes was a great success for Kopecky. She won the first stage and was therefore also able to wear the yellow. She still has that yellow jersey, but in the meantime she has narrowly missed on the victory several times.

Similarly in Blagnac. "It's a pity we couldn't sprint for the win. However, I try to look at it positively and when I look at the last kilometers I have only made good decisions. I have to remember that."

"I am also very proud that I will be able to wear the yellow jersey in the queen stage tomorrow. I could not have dreamed of this before the start of the Tour, it is really an honor for me," said Kopecky. "Tomorrow I will completely efface myself for Demi. Hopefully that will be enough to help her."
