Lorenzo Fortunato recently rode to fifth place at the Tour of the Alps and has continued to prove his form. He took the victory at the queen stage of the Vuelta Asturias this afternoon, surging to the lead of the race and showing great signs ahead of the Giro d'Italia.
The peloton in the Spanish race had to climb up the Alto del Acebo which set the key differences in the race. The Italian managed to go clear from the competition, crossing the line in Cangas del Narcea isolated. Einer Rubio and Iván Sosa of Movistar rode together to second and third place on the line.
