Lille in the lead with one month left till we learn the location of the Grande Départ of 2025 Tour de France

Now that we know the route of the Tour de France 2024, the presentation of which took place on Wednesday at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, we can clearly look forward to 2025. Everyone has been talking about it recently, Lille, the North and Hauts-de-France appear to be the winners of the race for the Grande Départ.

Soon we should know for certain because, according to our information, Christian Prudhomme will announce on November 30, during a press conference, the location and stage cities of the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2025.

The president of the agglomeration and Mayor of Béthune, Olivier Gacquerre, tells Cyclism'Actu his dream of hosting a stage of the Tour de France, something he has not done since 1984. "Today we have the enthusiasts, infrastructure, logistics, security. And also a unique and rugged route which would make it possible to have a great stage of the Tour de France," explains Olivier Gacquerre.

As the region is famous for its cobblestones, it is likely that, if the rumor is true, they will also make a comeback in the Grande Boucle program. A possibility which would recall the stage between Lille and Arenberg of the 2022 Tour.
