Lidl-Trek announces their trainees for 2023 including Mads Pedersen's brother

On the first transfer day, August 1, Lidl-Trek announced first three reinforcements for the rest of the season. The most striking name would be European Elimination Race champion Tim Torn Teutenberg, accompanied by Mads Pedersen's younger brother Martin, and mountain biker Nils Aebersold.

Martin Pedersen (25) raced in youth categories, but eventually hung up his bike. Later, however, it started to tickle again and halfway through 2022 he got a chance at Restaurant Suri-Carl Ras. He also rode Olympia's Tour for that team this year where, in the final rain-soaked Limburg stage, Pedersen finished second behind Jesse Kramer.

Tim Torn Teutenberg (21) has been riding for the continental Leopard TOGT last few years. The fast German came second this year in the Tour of Overijssel, achieved several top-five finishes in the Giro Next Gen and also took silver at the German time trial championship. Teutenberg is becoming a household cycling name, as his uncle, mother and father were all pros at their time, while his sister is racing for CERATIZIT-WNT. His mother Ina-Yoko is currently DS with Lidl-Trek's women team.

Nils Aebersold (20) was mainly active as a mountain biker until now. The Swiss was already associated with TREK Future Racing, a training team for off-road riders. Neither Aebersold is a stranger name to cycling as his father Niki was also a successful road pro.
