Again UCI points? That's overkill and mixing apples and oranges. What if race organizers lost or lowered their UCI race ratings because they were poorly managed? That I would like to see. PS How about giving time bonuses to teams who didn't violate the rules and give them additional UCI points? Society is headed that way.

Removing helmets mid race? Is he nuts? Did he wanted to get killed? Appalling!

I saw it on tv... he removed the helmet for way less than a minute to take out the cap he had underneath

He got fined for the 2nd time, only this one is throwing litter in nondesignated area. And the only other rider to be fined is Enzo Paleni for irregular feeding. The rest as DS of the cycling teams. Four of them in fact.

Fines, ok. If they could also fine the FANS alongside the route who probably throw more trash than the cyclists. UCI points??? Some of these riders may not have UCI points. This might impact team relegation. Maybe over the top punishments as I have seen riders try to put trash in the back pocket of jersey and yet it fell behind them without them knowing that.

If you agree that dystopic authors have always understood where and why society heads somewhere and you are up to date on technology, business and finance, you’ll know we are not far off that day. In some countries, there are already programs to register dogs’ dna when applying for a dog licence (in order to fine you when a street poop analysis matches up, I say that’s discrimination against cat owners ;-)). Current costs (dropping drastically) are the biggest barrier to some using currently available tech for detecting the presence of every single person that has been present somewhere (obviously not forever in a windy outdoor place) due to the incredible sensitivity and accuracy of equipment and the amount of material we shed every second. It is probably already be being used covertly in highly important or strategic cases regarding humans without us knowing due to the shockwave it would produce in populations, However, as almost always, the concept and experimentation is already in use in completely benign applications which will break the ice of acceptance and test how reliably the results can be exploited without legal obstacles. For example, in order to study the health and composition of aquatic environments, all we now have to do is dna test a sample of the water, it can tell us the exact presence/absence/proportion of each living organism present and quite a lot about their health. Fascinating, but also scary, no? So, best for everyone to start working on losing those bad habits ;-)

Prefer the good old days where you weren't fined but it wasn't noble to throw trash down and expect someone else to pick it up. In Japan it is still that way. There is not a trash can in sight yet no trash along the road because it would be the dishonorable thing to do.

Wow, wish they’d fine the general population that way.
