Jonas Vingegaard is back on the podium with victory in the third stage of the CRO Race. The Jumbo Visma rider overcame the final climb of the stage and beat Oscar Onley to celebrate the victory.
"For me, it's nice to still be able to win at the end of the season," said Vingegaard. He continues, "The last few years I was not so good in that period, so of course, I am happy that I can still win.”
It is his first victory since Tour de France, and the Dutch rider enjoyed it very much but it was not too easy, especially the final part. "It was a very difficult finish, actually. It was a very bumpy road. You couldn't stand on the pedals, so you had to sit a lot. But the legs felt good today," said Vingegaard.
He did not forget to thank his teammates who cleared his way to the victory. "We worked all day for it, so I'm happy I was able to win," said Vingegaard. He holds second position in GC, just behind the overall leader Jonathan Milan. "There are still a lot of stages to come. I don't even know if I'm first, I think Milan is still first. The form is good and I will keep trying,” concluded the Tour de France winner.
