"It's dangerous for all riders and it's unnecessary" - Max Schachmann bashes Primoz Roglic over causing crash in Longwy

Primoz Roglic is a known figure to crashing. In the sixth stage of the Tour de France he managed to escape unscathed, however Max Schachmann has accused the Slovenian of causing a crash that has seen him loose time in the GC.

"Jumbo-Visma has to pay attention, Primoz Roglic caused that fall again," Schachmann said at the end of the stage. He had until today raced strongly and was sitting between the first in the overall classification. He was one of the favourites for the sixth stage alongside teammate Aleksandr Vlasov, which saw BORA - hansgrohe work throughout the day, but that came down as both crashed near the finish.

The incident took place with 8.5 kilometers to go. Vlasov eventually managed to return to the GC group with the team's assistance, however neither could fight for the stage win and Schachmann shed over a minute at the finish.

"They want to ride to the last centimeter where that is not possible. That is clear criticism of me, yes. It's dangerous for all riders and it's unnecessary. If there's no room, there's no room," the German criticized. "You have to accept that you are not riding at the front for once. Roglic is very lucky that he was not there himself." Roglic had crashed the previous day, however due to a stack of hay that was taken into the road by an organization motorbike.
