Isaac del Toro won what is so far the most impressive victory of his short career at
Milano - Torino. The Mexican was the strongest in the hard climb up to Superga and took the victory, however he did so without zipping his jersey and that ultimately cost him a fine after the race.
Del Toro sprinted through the finish line with the UAE Team Emirates jersey completely open, which is forbidden by the UCI, for which he has been fined 200 Swiss francs. What is surprising is not the sanction, which was known to be forthcoming. The race report pointed towards "damage to the image of the sport". It is known that teams tell their riders to zip their jerseys for the finish line pictures so as to showcase their sponsors, however it came as a surprise that the Mexican would actually be punished by the race organization itself.

I'm surprised that this article didn't mention the fact that the zipper was broken, and he couldn't zip it up if he tried. That fact makes the UCI decision even more idiotic.
I thought it did mention that. Maybe I read that in a different article tho.
