Matteo Jorgenson was pissed off at Thibaut Pinot after the twelfth stage in the Tour de France. The Frenchman refused to cooperate with him on Thursday, according to Jorgenson. In the end, the Movistar rider finished third, behind Mathieu Burgaudeau and winner Ion Izagirre.
"I'm angry because I had the legs to win. I really tried, but Pinot was always in my wheel. He wasn't cooperating at all. Every move I made was nullified by him. I don't know why he did that."
Not only Pinot suffered after the ride. Jorgenson also criticized Tobias Johannessen. "Although I don't want to name anyone right now. We rode around with few riders, who were constantly skipping head turns."
The American is therefore left with a sour feeling. "This is not really satisfying, no," he ends. "Today's stage was the one that suited me best and the next stages are awful. I will of course keep trying."
