Heat stroke ends Antonio Tiberi's Vuelta a Espana on brutal mountain day

The crazy heat has affected several riders at the Vuelta a España and today it may have caused it's greatest victim. Antonio Tiberi was at the door of the podium and leading the youth classification, but has suffered from heat stroke today and was forced to abandon the race.

"Antonio Tiberi felt unwell during stage 9 suffering from heat stroke, becoming lightheaded with a high body temperature," the team shared in a social media message. "Cooling methods helped stabilize him, and he is now in good condition, but sadly, he had to abandon La Vuelta. Get well soon Antonio ".
