Fillipo Ganna on Etoile de Bessèges: "For me it wasn't just a preparation race"

The world time-trial champion is a big presence in any race he is at and the freshly-concluded Etoile de Bessèges was no exception, as he took home the final stage after a week of riding in the crosswinds and protecting his teammates.
"My legs were great until the final climb, which wasn't really suitable for my weight, but we still take home the final result," Ganna said regarding the sharp effort that was required to take this win, in an interview with DirectVélo

"It was a good race, now we are focusing on the next events on the calendar, but for me it wasn't just a preparation race. All races are important and it was important for me to give it my all, for me and for the team."
Regarding his next stop in the calendar, it is still unclear: "I don't know if I'll do the Tour de la Provence. Going back would be special for me because that's where I got my first victory as a professional, but it will be the team who will decide".
