The most recent race to be contested in the 2024/25 cyclocross season is the Zilvermeercross Mol of the Superprestige. For Eli Iserbyt, this Monday was a very tough day. The Belgian finished 19th.
In addition, Iserbyt recently confirmed that he has long been struggling with pirimorfe syndrome, a pinched nerve in his left leg. Recently, the pain has returned stronger than before. On Instagram he said the following, "It's not an injury, it's a way of life."
Also, speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws, Eli Iserbyt did not hide his disappointment after completing one of his worst performances of the season: "I don't know what happened, today it just didn't go," said the Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal rider.
"It was hard, I had a bad day. I tried to go out to have other better feelings, but it was quite difficult. It didn't go the way I expected. I think it's very unfortunate. [...] However, I do my best for it and then it's very difficult to race like that," Iserbyt added in reference to the large amount of sand on the track.
However, the 27-year-old wants to keep his morale high: "My morale is still pretty good, but it just didn't work out. Let's go for the next cyclocross," he concluded without throwing in the towel.
