"Extraordinary" 17-year-old Italian talent Jacopo Venzo dies after crash in Austria

Some tragically sad news has emerged from Austria. 17-year-old Italian junior talent Jacopo Venzo has sadly passed away after crashing during a junior race.

His team, Campana Imballagi-Geo & Tex-Trentino took to Facebook to share the awful news. “With tears in our eyes and a broken heart we announce that our junior Jacopo Venzo has left us. He fell victim to a very heavy crash yesterday during the first stage of the Junior Rundfahrt," they explain.

“Jacopo was an extraordinary boy, with a future to be written in sport and in life. That's why it hurts even more. As a team, we gather around family, friends and everyone who loved Jacopo and is in immense pain right now," it continues. “Ciao Jacopo, thank you for the nice time together. You can't imagine how much we will miss you."
