Egan Bernal took to Instagram last night to show the fans that he is home and in good condition taking into consideration what his last two weeks have been like, where he suffered life-threatening injuries and an almost certain chance that he would become paraplegic.
"I have to thank them for giving me a second chance. The truth is I feel reborn," Bernal said in a video shared by the clinic where he was in for 13 days, with the majority of them being in intensive care.
"Without the help of the medical staff, it would have been a whole different story. At one moment, I was preparing for the Tour de France, now I fought for my life," he said.
It is another positive update that the Colombian shares and in the coming weeks many more should come as he begins to see what his body is capable of, before any update is to come regarding a possible return to cycling.
