Edward Theuns believes Dries Van Gestel's behaviour marred his sprint on stage 5: "I had the feeling that I could've finished very well"

After a third place on Tuesday, Edward Theuns finished sixth in Burriana. The Belgian from Lidl-Trek was not very happy with that. Theuns thinks he was detained by Dries Van Gestel.

"I was positioned around Groves before the sprint, but I was hit by Van Gestel," says Theuns at HLN. "It took some elbow work to get through, but then it was already too late. I've never really been able to sprint."

"Frustrating," ends the Belgian Lidl-Trek rider. "Because I had the feeling that there was something beautiful in it. Now I was in the sprint with a surplus in the wheel."
