The veteran Catalan cyclist
Eduard Prades has extended his commitment to the
Caja Rural - Seguros RGA team for another season. This new agreement will mark his sixth full season with the team, consolidating his position as a fundamental pillar both in the sporting field and in the leadership of the team.
In the 2024 squad, Prades stands as the only member over the age of 30, strengthening his role as road captain and veteran figure in a largely young squad. His experience and strategic skills are key assets for the team, which is looking to his leadership to provide essential support in the competitions to come.
The previous season has seen Prades strike a balance between his individual goals and supporting his teammates. His influence was crucial in the triumphs of other team riders in such notable events as the Tour of Hellas, the Tour of Langkawi, and the Grande Prémio Torres Vedras. In the latter competition, his efforts led him to a close second place on the second day in line, just short of victory.
During the summer, Prades showed an outstanding performance in the Basque classics in July, finishing seventh in Ordizia and sixth in Getxo. His competitive ability on complex and winding terrain, characteristic of the roads of Euskadi and Navarra, was once again evident.
This renewal consolidates Prades as a fundamental part of the team, contributing his experience and wisdom acquired over more than a decade as a professional cyclist. His commitment to Caja Rural-Seguros RGA not only translates into sporting results, but also in the leadership he projects on the young members, serving as a guide in their growth and development in the competitive field of elite cycling.
