Dylan Teuns was a last-minute signing last year for
Israel - Premier Tech, however in 2023 his role will be more settled and he will be a leader of the Israeli team throughout the spring. Talking to the media, director Rik Verbrugghe has talked about his Belgian star.
“Dylan probably won't race Paris-Roubaix this time. He will also skip Dwars door Vlaanderen and Harelbeke, but he will participate in the
Tour of Flanders and then in all the most important races in the Ardennes and De Brabantse Pijl," he said. In the 2022 spring Teuns took a big win at Flèche Wallone aswell as a stage win at the Tour de Romandie. The team aims high now having the weapon on board.
With the likes of Michael Woods and Jakob Fuglsang on board, the focus in the hilly classics will naturally remain with the team, which will look to take advantage of it into the Ardennes. The team has not been able to secure wildcards for all World Tour events, but having scored enough points this year to have invites towards the one-day races, those become immediate priority.
Teuns won't return to the Tour of Flanders however: "Last year it became clear that he can aim very high. With Sep Vanmarcke and also Jens Reynders, alongside a young Canadian like Derek Gee, we are better equipped for the Flemish spring classics," Verbrugghe concluded, despite Teuns sixth place in Flandres this year.
