Having finished seventh and fifth in her two appearances at the Tour des Flandres, Demi Vollering has clearly got the legs to contest the Tour des Flandres and after her breakthrough season last year into the top of the world rankings, she's looking to do some damage tomorrow alongside Team SD Worx.
“The extra climbs and cobblestone sections in the course make it harder than last year. The finale will start earlier due to these additions. The Koppenberg will also play a role in this. If you're badly positioned there, you're in trouble. I think you can't win the race there, but you can really lose," she said in a video released by the team in antecipation to the Flandrien race.
Vollering is set to lead the team in Flandres alongside Belgian national champion Lotte Kopecky and Chantal van den Broek-Blaak, with a very strong collective that can play their cards very well and put pressure on rival teams.
“We have to be patient with it. It's good for us to have a tough race with a tough final, but I think now more teams will want a tough race. This is a good situation. I am ready and really looking forward to it," he concluded.
