Cycling mourns the loss of promising Spanish rider Estela Domínguez who has passed away victim of car accident

The young cyclist Estela Domínguez, a native of Valladolid, died yesterday afternoon after being hit by a truck while training. The accident took place on the N-620, at the exit of Polígono de Villares, in Salamanca.

Daughter of the cyclist Juan Carlos Domínguez, who in the nineties won a stage in the Giro d'Italia, she was a promising Spanish cyclist. She finished seventh in the Spanish Cyclocross Championship in Vic and was selected by the Spanish Cycling Federation to participate in the World Cup race in Benidorm.

Estela Domínguez was in Salamanca because she was studying Labor Relations and Human Resources. It was going to be her first year as a professional in the Sopela Women's Team.

CyclingUpToDate would like to extend it's condolences to friends and family of Estela.
