Mark Cavendish and Alexey Lutsenko lead win-oriented Astana at Tour of Oman

The long-awaited return of Mark Cavendish to the peloton is here. Long has been the winter for the Manxman who saw his initial team collapsing, but after finding a new home at Astana Qazaqstan Team, he will now be debuting his new jersey at the Tour of Oman.
The Kazakh team will have Cees Bol supporting the Manxman at the UAE Tour, but here it will be an initial test for Cavendish's set leadout to be tested. Cavendish will be joined by Martin Laas and Yevegeniy Fedorov who should be crucial pieces for him in the sprints, with Leonardo Basso and Manuele Boaro also expected to serve some support in the run-up to the fast finishes.
The team will also be counting on former race winner Alexey Lutsenko who has been crowned champion in 2018 and 2019. Starting his season, the Kazakh will be hunting the overall classification and have the support of Colombian Harold Tejada in what will be a motivated and ambitious team.
