Could Red Bull's purchase of 51% stake in BORA - hansgrohe see Wout van Aert switch teams?

There are many questions following global business giant Red Bull taking a 51% ownership of BORA - hansgrohe. One such question is what does that mean for one of the company's sponsored riders, Wout van Aert.

With Red Bull and van Aert having a longtime sponsorship relationship, as seen by the Belgian's trademark Red Bull helmet that helps him stand out in the peloton, could they come to terms on agreement that would see van Aert join BORA - hansgrohe in the not so distant future?

Obviously, the big obstacle in this potential move would be the fact that van Aert is seemingly, from the outside looking in at least, currently very happy at Team Visma | Lease a Bike and surely, the Dutch-based would not willingly let one of their big-name riders leave without a fight.

Given the PR nightmare for both teams that was the recent move of Cian Uijtdebroeks in the opposite direction as the possible van Aert deal, relationships between Ralph Denk's BORA - hansgrohe and Richard Plugge's Team Visma | Lease a Bike are somewhat strained.

One to keep an eye on over the next couple of years certainly!
