The mistake you make is making this causal. There’s no way to know what would have happened without a vaccine. That’s why medical research is really really hard and anecdotes like yours carry little weight. (Speaking here as a researcher, so let’s just not have a debate you’re going to lose, thankyouverymuch.)

Pidcock was the only one to put the fight to Pogacar last year and probably learned along the way. Who knows. I always assume Pogacar will win, but sometimes no, and that makes for great racing moments.
