Two Belgian riders,
Aimé De Gendt and
Milan Fretin will be a part of
Cofidis' roster in upcoming seasons. The 29-year-old De Gendt will form an important part of the French team's classics squad while Fretin will try to leave his mark in bunch finishes.
"Cofidis is a team which has made incredible progress in recent years. I want to participate in this development and do everything to help the team in all circumstances. I am a Flemish rider, I like the classics. I proved within my former team, that I was there when it came to defending my leaders. While experience is valuable over the seasons, I know that there are always things to learn that will be valuable for the next race and to help my teammates be in the best possible condition," said De Gendt.
"I have dreamed of racing for Cofidis for a very long time and I am very proud that it has come true. I had a very good feeling with Cédric Vasseur. I have a puncher-sprinter profile: I like to fight to be part of the train and help lead the sprinters. I can't wait to learn alongside Bryan Coquard and the other leaders of the team who have a lot of experience. I want to continue to progress and get closer to my limits. I had the opportunity to meet some Belgian riders from the team, including Piet Allegaert," adds Fretin.
