After her dramatic departure from CERATIZIT-WNT Pro Cycling, Cédrine Kerbaol didn't make us wait long for what her new team will be. Those who expected the young talent to jump over to one of the top WorldTour teams however, will be disappointed. Kerbaol will take a step-down in the hierarchy, joining the ambitious continental team EF-Oatly-Cannondale.
Her new team is certainly not to be underestimated with a roster that mustn't be ashamed to stand face to face against some of the WorldTour teams. After all, among Kerbaol's new teammates we find the likes of Olympic champion Kristen Faulkner and the very talented Swiss champion Noemi Rüegg.
"There are a lot of strong riders here, so I come with the expectation of achieving great things with the team," she says ambitiously. "Long, solitary efforts, like a time trial or a breakaway, are my greatest strength on the bike. That's how I like to race. I'm a strong climber and - something I wouldn't say about myself in the past - a strong descender," she said, referring to the descent that took her to a stage win in the Tour last summer.
This will be her biggest goal again next year. "I love the Tour de France Femmes, and next year the second stage starts in my hometown, so that's a very, very important goal. Dreams motivate me. I like to keep my dreams to myself, but I want to be the best rider I can be."
A former U23 and elite French time trial national champion, Cédrine excels on a variety of terrain. In 2023, she earned a silver medal at the U23 individual time trial world championships and was the best young rider at the Tour de France Femmes. This season she added to her already impressive palmarès by winning the Vuelta CV Feminas, Durango-Durango, stage six of the Tour de France Femmes, Chrono Roland Bouge, and closed out her season with a solo victory at Tre Valli Varesine.
