Before getting to Canada, Tadej Pogacar blocked at Paris airport for half a day - "Then I should have gone to Disneyland"

Tadej Pogacar is in Canada this week for the GP de Québec and GP de Montréal where he is the headliner, but his trip did not come without it's obstacles. He was blocked at the airport in Paris and arrived to Canada without his baggage and late.

"Then I should have gone to Disneyland. Disneyland had genuinely seemed like fun," the UAE Team Emirates rider said, now safely in Québec where he will race today. "But it turned out to be a little too complicated. Luke Maguire (UAE Team Emirates' press secretary, ed.) was unhappy with the plan to take the train to Disneyland and spend a few hours at the amusement park."

Pogacar, a two-time Tour de France winner in the city of Paris itself, found himself blocked at the airport. Whilst teammates Tim Wellens and Juan Ayuso were able to make the overseas trip to North America without any issue, the Slovenian.

Pogacar's eletronic permission to make the trip to Canada was not working properly, seemingly an administrative error, and it forced an hours-long delay that caused him to miss the flight. After pondering on making a day trip in the French city it didn't end up being the case, but eventually the race organization was able to provide another flight shortly after which partially solved the situation - it is assumed that his luggage arrived in a different flight not too long afterwards.
