At the age of 28, Brit Paul Double will make a WorldTour debut with Jayco AlUla

Another talented British rider joins WorldTour! Ineos involved? No... Anyhow Paul Double had a complicated path to the upper echelons of the cycling world, however after a splendid 2024 campaign, there was no doubt an interest from WorldTour teams would come and it's Jayco AIUla where the 28-year-old Brit will spend his next two seasons. The big goal is to make a Grand Tour debut during that period.

"I am very excited to sign for Team Jayco AIUla for 2025 and 2026. It’s a proud moment for me personally to be joining such a well-established WorldTour team after the somewhat interesting path I have taken to reach this point. It was important to me not to step into 'any' WorldTour team but one that I felt would have a well-suited environment and vision for me as a rider – I firmly believe this is the case with Team Jayco AIUIa," Double said in a press release.

The 28-year-old with a list of GC top 10s from smaller stage races across the Europe this year then goes on to confirm that his main strength to be in the high mountains: "I'm a climber and have been performing consistently well in stage races, as well as hilly one-day events, and I hope to continue in this vein and build further."

After having turned pro with Human Powered Health in 2023 at the of 26, not many would have thought that thee British climber, who spent much of his early career racing in Italy, would be able to break onto the big scene. However those followed his path with Polti-Kometa this year must attest that he wasn't scouted by Jayco AlUla on a coincidence and that Double should quickly prove to be a valuable asset in the mountains.

"I also look forward to experience races of the highest level surrounded by top, experienced riders in the squad, where I hope to display my qualities, aiding Team Jayco AIUIa to success, personally, and as a team. I know that I arrived in the sport later than most but I’m also seeing my trajectory as a rider positively increase at a rate I didn’t experience in my younger years. For that reason, I’m grateful to the team for the opportunity to see how far we can take things!"
