The abandons keep coming at the 2024 Tour de France with the latest of those riders to step off being EF Education - EasyPost's Italian national champion, Alberto Bettiol.
Whilst the Italian hadn't been notably struggling, Bettiol had according to EF Education - EasyPost boss Jonathan Vaughters on Discovery+, been complaining over the last few days of having pains in his legs. With the Olympic Games upcoming and not too many more opportunities to come for Bettiol at the Tour de France, the decision has been taken to abandon the Grand Tour on stage 14, following the likes of Tom Pidcock and Louis Vervaeke out of the race on this Saturday afternoon.
