Covid and just general illnesses are currently running rampant at the 2024 Tour de France with some tested positive riders still attempting to carry on. One of those was Soudal - Quick-Step's Louis Vervaeke but sadly, the key domestique of Remco Evenepoel has now abandoned on stage 14.
Having been kept out of the Soudal - Quick-Step team bus this morning and instead made to change in a team car, Vervaeke was visibly struggling at the back of the peloton even before the climbing began on stage 14. With the Belgian distanced further on the slopes of the Col du Tourmalet and not feeling any better, Vervaeke has now stepped off his bike and out of the 2024 Tour de France.

- Pointless reporting. They are rivals, each tries their way to get their best result, with or without collaboration. As long as it’s all fair, why even report riders feelings about such stuff (yes I know, lack of other news).
