The transfer season will kick off on the 1st of August and some teams are already making moves. Some with riders coming from other teams, however others betting on their internal talent which is the case of AG2R Citroën Team which will have four more riders at it's disposal.
They announced three new trainees that will be representing the team throughout the final months of the season: Thomas Delphis, Pierre Gautherat and Bastien Tronchon. 23, 19 and 20 years of age respectively, across different specialties, the trio will be having the opportunity to race at Elite level and show their worth in an attempt to make a move to the World Tour in the coming seasons.
Furthermore the team will also be having Valentin Retailleau, former under-23 French champion who has signed a contract until the end of 2024 with the team from this day onwards.
Over the last few years AG2R have been using the trainee program with plenty riders, with the likes of Clément Champoussin, Matteo Jorgenson, Geoffrey Bouchard, Kevin Geniets, Benoît Cosnefroy and Pierre Latour between the names that jumped to pro level after a similar stint.
