- Perhaps the timing of this interview was actually approved by Visma (to distract attention if, say, Visma had managed to win Stage 2 with Van Aert, and put Vingegaard and Jorgensen in the top five). Visma are not short of plans, and Plugge in the 2023 Tour admitted to accusing a French team of drinking too much simply to deflect questions after Jonas's Tour-winning time trial. But even if this was approved, it seems have gone seriously off-piste.
- Vingegaard's wife has nothing to do with his business affairs. He is managed by WSP Worldsport Promotion SA
- Like at the Giro, Wout is not in the best shape yet, but should improve as the race progresses and will be in a position to win stages later and be a good satellite rider for Jonas.
- perhaps something lost in the translation???
- exactly. go back to slinging fish for 100 x less money and see how that feels.
- There's a video replay showing Biniam on the wheel of two teammates, and Jonathan tries to cut in but Biniam rightly sticks out his elbow to defend his line, but Jonathan has another go and bumps Biniam off the wheel. It's very weird that Jonathan reacts in such a manner immediately after the intermediate sprint finish line, as if (needlessly) looking for someone to blame.
- who can complain about this? if it isn’t his day, then someone else steps up. good for Jonas. everyone is happy, except is stupid wife.
- wtf kind of person sends their spouse into deal with their negotiations??? I now own a company. this would be laughable - someone sends their spouse into deal with things. wow.
- She's given interviews before, over the years, which gave the impression that she had a big say in Jonas's career choices. This interview, when Jonas is looking so strong in every way, looks like a serious misjudgement. Though we can't know the motivation behind it.
- ok, fair point. she should consider herself blessed.
